Peter & John are released after their hearing before the elders, rulers, and scribes. The Council warns them to stop teaching in the name of Jesus of Nazareth. The two Apostles meet up with their friends and tell them about their experience before the Council. The group doesn't whine or pray for the persecution to stop. They immediately pray for boldness to continue as witnesses for Christ.
We also looked at the account of Ananias and Sapphira. This couple devised a plan to sell some property and give half of the proceeds to the Apostle. That would have been perfectly fine, except they lied and said they were donating the entirety of the sale proceeds. Their deception was revealed by the Holy Spirit and they both died instantly.
