As usual, I encourage you to read this section of scripture and come prepared to worship and to hear and receive the Word.
Paul's Ministry in Ephesus (19:8-10):
- Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months but when some became obstinate and refused to believe, Paul stopped teaching in the synagogue.
- Paul moves next door to the lecture hall of Tyrannus. For two years he teaches every day. We will look at the results of his dedication.
Miracles and Exorcisms (19:11-20):
- God performed extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured, and evil spirits left them.
- Five Jewish exorcists tried to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who were demon-possessed.
- But, the demon-possessed man overpowered them, causing them to flee naked and wounded.
- Everyone in Ephesus hears about this incident and they are fearful.
- The account of this encounter is incredible…but, tomorrow we will look at the impact it has on the believers in Ephesus that have not fully repented or turned away from their old ways.
